Why Haaland Fits FC 27 So Well
FC 27 currently gives physical forwards several ways to influence a match.
Crosses and headers are useful again, pace matters, lobbed passes can create dangerous situations behind the defensive line, and strong forwards can punish defenders physically.

Haaland fits that environment almost perfectly.
He gives you:
• elite finishing;
• physical dominance;
• dangerous runs behind the defense;
• a huge target for crosses;

If the leaked version is accurate, Haaland is clearly the card we are most excited about in Destined for Glory Team 2.
He is already our favorite striker in the current gameplay, and this special version could become one of the defining cards of the early FC 27 cycle.
Dayot Upamecano – One of the Most Interesting CBs in Team 2
Upamecano could be just as important at the other end of the pitch.
Those numbers already look excellent for an early-cycle center-back.
But once again, the stats are only part of the story.
His Body Type Is a Major Advantage
One of the things we like most about Upamecano in FC 27 is his stocky, powerful in-game model.
He feels physically present.
That matters because defending in FC 27 is more manual. You need defenders who can recover quickly, win physical duels and actually dominate attackers when you position them correctly.
A defender who has good defensive numbers but feels weak or too small can still cause problems.
Upamecano does not have that issue.
He combines a big physical presence with enough pace to defend aggressively.
Why He Could Be One of the Best CBs in FC 27
In our FC 27 first gameplay impressions, we highlighted that the best early defenders need more than Defending.
Ideally, you want:
• pace;
• strength;
• defensive awareness;
• interceptions;
• recovery speed;
• a strong body type.
Upamecano checks many of those boxes.
And because this is a live card, future upgrades could make an already strong center-back significantly better.

Upamecano looks like one of the safest high-level defenders in Team 2.
The combination of his stocky body model, 82 Pace, 88 Defending and 85 Physical should make him extremely effective for manual defending.
If you play aggressively with your center-backs, this is one of the cards to watch.
Linda Caicedo – Don't Underestimate This Card
Caicedo may not attract as much attention as Haaland, but this could be one of the most interesting gameplay cards in the entire promo.
The obvious numbers are 95 Pace and 90 Dribbling.
But our interest in Caicedo comes from actually using her base version.
Her Gold Card Is Already Extremely Strong
Caicedo's Gold card is very effective in-game.
She is quick, responsive and dangerous when introduced against tired defenders.
That is why she can be such a good super sub.
Competitive players have also used her in this role: bring her on later in the match and immediately attack tired full-backs with her acceleration and dribbling.
Now imagine the same profile with 95 Pace and 90 Dribbling.
That could be extremely dangerous.
Perfect for the Current Gameplay
Quick turns and R1 dribbling are particularly useful in the current version of FC 27.
Caicedo naturally fits that style.
She should be able to:
• attack space;
• accelerate away from defenders;
• receive the ball wide;
• cut inside;
• create separation through dribbling;
• change matches from the bench.
She could also fit naturally into some of the wide systems from our FC 27 custom tactics guide, particularly formations where Wingers or Inside Forwards need pace and strong one-on-one ability.
Caicedo Verdict
Caicedo is our potential sleeper card from Team 2.
Do not judge her only by overall rating.
Her Gold version already works very well in-game, and the Destined for Glory boost gives her exactly the kind of attributes that can make a winger extremely dangerous in FC 27.
She could be an excellent starter or an elite super sub.
Weston McKennie – The Most Interesting All-Round Midfielder?
McKennie is probably the card we are most curious to test.
Every face stat except Shooting is 80+.
That immediately makes him interesting.
A True All-Round Midfielder
McKennie does not appear designed around one extreme attribute.
Instead, he gives you almost everything.
• He has enough pace.
• He can pass.
• He can carry the ball.
• He can defend.
• He is physical.
And 79 Shooting is hardly a disaster for a central midfielder.
This is exactly the type of card that can become much better in-game than its 85 overall rating suggests.
Where Should You Play McKennie?
Box-to-box CM looks like the obvious role.
He could potentially work particularly well next to a more defensive Holding midfielder.
For example, some of the systems in our FC 27 custom tactics guide use one midfielder on Holding while the second midfielder has more freedom.
McKennie looks built for that second role.
He can contribute defensively but still move forward and participate in possession.
His physicality should also help in midfield duels.
Upgrade Potential Could Be Huge
This is where things become really interesting.
A balanced card benefits enormously from upgrades because there is no obvious weak area that needs to be fixed first.
If McKennie can earn additional improvements throughout the season, his already balanced profile could develop into a very complete midfielder.
McKennie Verdict
McKennie may not be the most expensive card in Team 2, but he is one of the cards we most want to test.
83 Pace, 84 Passing, 84 Dribbling, 84 Defending and 86 Physical is a fantastic all-round base for an 85-rated midfielder.
He looks like a potentially excellent box-to-box CM.
Which Team 2 Cards Are We Most Excited to Try?
Four cards stand above the rest for us.
Haaland is the superstar. He is already the best striker in the game in our experience, and a 92-rated live version could be incredible.
Upamecano has the combination of pace, defending, physicality and body type we want from an elite FC 27 center-back.
Caicedo could be the sleeper. Her Gold card already performs extremely well, particularly as a super sub, and the leaked upgrade gives her 95 Pace and 90 Dribbling.
McKennie is the experiment. His card has 80+ in every face stat except Shooting, giving him one of the most balanced midfield profiles in the squad.
These four cards represent four very different types of value.
Haaland gives you elite finishing.
Upamecano gives you defensive dominance.
Caicedo gives you explosive pace and dribbling.
McKennie gives you midfield versatility.
