Choosing the right LB SBC in FC 26 Ultimate Team can be tricky, especially when two strong options are available at the same time. Right now, both O’Reilly and Theo Hernández look like excellent left-back upgrades, and both are priced at around 300,000 FC 26 coins.

On paper, they both seem like top-tier options. But in-game, they offer very different profiles. One is more physical and unique, while the other is a more familiar meta-style full-back.

So, let’s break down who is actually better value for your coins: O’Reilly or Theo Hernández?

O’Reilly SBC Review

O’Reilly is one of the most interesting left-back SBC cards currently available in FC 26. He is not just another fast full-back. His main value comes from his size, physical presence, and the ability to get the Lengthy accelerate type with the right Chemistry Style.

For around 300k coins, O’Reilly gives you a very specific type of player: a tall, powerful, defensive LB who can dominate duels and recover well over longer distances.

O’Reilly Pros

The first major advantage is his set of gold PlayStyles. He has a strong selection that makes him reliable in different defensive situations, especially if you use your left back in a more balanced or defensive role.

His silver PlayStyles are also very useful. They add extra consistency to the card and make him feel more complete in-game, even if he is not the most agile full-back available.

Another huge advantage is his Lengthy accelerate type. In FC 26, Lengthy players can be very strong over longer distances, especially when tracking back against fast attackers. This makes O’Reilly especially valuable if you often defend against through balls or fast wingers.

His body model is also a big part of the card’s value. At 193 cm, O’Reilly has a tall and powerful in-game presence. He should win most physical battles and aerial duels, which is rare for a player in the LB position.

For players who like strong defensive full-backs, this is a serious advantage.

O’Reilly Cons

The main downside is that O’Reilly does not have at least a silver Anticipate PlayStyle. For a defensive full-back, this would have made the card even more reliable in tackles and interceptions.

Another possible issue is his agility. Because of his height and large body type, O’Reilly can feel slightly heavy in bad gameplay or poor connection. If the servers are slow, he may not feel as sharp as smaller and more agile full-backs.

So if you prefer a very responsive LB who turns quickly in tight spaces, this is something to consider before spending your coins.

Best Chemistry Style for O’Reilly

The best Chemistry Styles for O’Reilly are Architect or Sniper.

This is very important: without the right Chemistry Style and 3 Chemistry points, O’Reilly will not get the Lengthy accelerate type.

So if you are completing this SBC mainly because of Lengthy, make sure you can fit him into your squad on full chemistry. Otherwise, you will lose one of the biggest reasons to choose him over Theo Hernández.

Theo Hernández SBC Review

Theo Hernández is a very different type of LB. He is one of those players who always feels strong in Ultimate Team because of his pace, physicality, and proven in-game model.

If you have used Theo cards in previous FC or FIFA titles, you already know what to expect: speed, power, and reliable wide defending.

Theo Hernández Pros

Theo has good gold PlayStyles, which make him a very solid option both defensively and going forward. He is fast, strong, and comfortable in wide areas.

His silver PlayStyles are also excellent. They give him a well-rounded feel and make him suitable for different playstyles, whether you use your LB aggressively or more conservatively.

The biggest advantage of Theo is that his body type is already proven. He has been one of the most reliable full-backs in Ultimate Team for years. His combination of pace, strength, and movement usually works very well in-game.

He may not be as unique as O’Reilly, but he is definitely the safer and more familiar option for many players.

Theo Hernández Cons

The biggest downside is the lack of Whipped Pass+. For me, this is a serious problem, especially if you actively use your full-backs in attack.

A left back with Whipped Pass+ can be very dangerous when creating chances from wide areas. Without it, Theo loses some attacking value, especially compared to cards that can deliver stronger crosses and driven passes from the flank.

Another issue is that Theo cannot be made Lengthy. This means that over longer distances, he may sometimes lose recovery runs against very fast attackers, especially when compared to a properly boosted Lengthy O’Reilly.

This does not make Theo bad. He is still a very strong LB. But it does make him slightly less special for the price.

Best Chemistry Style for Theo Hernández

The best Chemistry Style for Theo Hernández is Shadow.

Shadow boosts his pace and defensive stats, which is exactly what most players want from a meta left back. With Shadow, Theo becomes faster, more reliable defensively, and better suited to handle quick wingers.

O’Reilly vs Theo Hernández: Who Is Better Value?

Both cards are among the best LB SBC options currently available in FC 26 Ultimate Team. But they are built for slightly different types of players.

Choose Theo Hernández if you want a safer, more familiar, classic meta full-back. He is fast, strong, reliable, and easy to use. Most players will understand his card immediately because Theo has always been good in Ultimate Team.

Choose O’Reilly if you want something more unique. His 193 cm body model, physical dominance, and Lengthy accelerate type make him feel different from most left backs. He gives you more defensive power, better aerial ability, and stronger recovery runs over distance.

For around 300,000 coins, O’Reilly offers a more unique profile. Theo is safer, but O’Reilly has the higher “special card” factor.

O’Reilly:

193 cm Can be Lengthy More physical Better defensive presence Can feel heavy

Theo Hernández:

Proven meta body type Faster/agile feel Shadow recommended No Lengthy No Whipped Pass+

Final Verdict: O’Reilly or Theo Hernández?

Both O’Reilly and Theo Hernández are excellent left-back SBCs, and either one can improve your FC 26 Ultimate Team squad.

However, my personal choice would be O’Reilly.

The main reason is his Lengthy accelerate type combined with his huge 193 cm body model. He is not just another fast LB. He gives you physical dominance, strong defensive coverage, and a unique profile that is difficult to find in this position.

Theo Hernández is still a great option, especially if you prefer a more traditional meta full-back. But the lack of Whipped Pass+ is a serious downside for me. If I am spending around 300k coins on an SBC, I want the card to offer something special.

O’Reilly does that better.

So, if you can fit him into your squad on 3 Chemistry points and apply the right Chemistry Style, O’Reilly is the better SBC to complete.
